CAT 2023 Registration Closed: Registration numbers highest ever applications Increase by 30%

The last chance to register and apply for CAT 2023 closes on September 21, 2023. CAT 2023 registration last date was earlier extended from September 13 to September 21, 11 am, 2023. CAT exam convenor Professor Sanjit Singh had also confirmed that the CAT deadline will not be extended again and urged the candidates to register for hassle-free registration during the extended period instead of waiting till the last minute to avoid last-minute technical glitches.

The registration numbers for CAT 2023 have broken previous records. The number of exam applications has increased by 30% compared to last year, reaching 3.30 lakh. Dr. Sanjeet Singh, the CAT 2023 Convenor, confirmed this information, stating that around 3.30 lakh candidates have registered for the exam. This is the highest number of CAT registrations ever.

The increase in numbers can be attributed to the addition of more exam cities this year. The CAT convener mentioned that they are planning to conduct the exam in around 160 test cities, which is an increase from the 154 cities last year. CAT is the largest MBA entrance exam in India, leading to admission opportunities in top B-schools. The substantial increase in CAT 2023 registration numbers is a positive sign for the growth of management education in the country.

As is well known, Common Admission Test (CAT) is the biggest MBA entrance exam, providing admission opportunity to top Indian B-schools including 21 IIMs, FMS Delhi, JbIMS, IIFT, SPJIMR, MDI, IITs, and B-schools. Over the past decade, almost all IIMs and other top MBA colleges accepting CAT scores have increased seats in their flagship program and also launched new programs, and the substantial increase in CAT 2023 registration numbers is a good sign for the growth of management education in India.
