The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh (PGIMER Chandigarh) is a public medical university located in Chandigarh, India, recognized as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It provides comprehensive educational, medical research and training facilities in various specialties, super specialties and sub specialties. As the most prominent tertiary care hospital in northern India, it serves patients from Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Apart from clinical services, PGI also offers training in almost all disciplines of medicine including post graduate and post-doctoral degrees, diploma, Doctor of Philosophy and fellowship. A 100-seat MBBS college is expected to start by 2025 at PGI's satellite centre in Sarangpur.

Admission to post-doctoral and postgraduate (PG) courses conducted at PGIMER is made twice a year. The admission to the courses is made on merit on all-India basis by holding an entrance examination by the institute, after issuing a countrywide admission notice.
