Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur (VNIT Nagpur), named in honour of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, an eminent engineer, planner and statesman. Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology formerly known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE). VNIT Nagpur was established in 1960 and is a public technical university located in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India.

VNIT Nagpur is one of the 31st National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in India and in year 2007, it was given the status of an institute of national importance (INI) by the National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research Act, 2007, enacted by the Parliament of India.
