University of Delhi: Located in Delhi, India, the University of Delhi is a
renowned collegiate research central university. It was established in 1922 by
an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly and is recognized as an Institution
of Excellence (IoE) by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The University
of Delhi is the country's premier university and is known for its high standards
in teaching and research and attracts eminent scholars into its faculty.
The university has 16 faculties and 86 departments across
its northern and southern campuses, and the remaining colleges across the
region. It has 91 constituent colleges. The University of Delhi is one of the
largest university systems in the world, with over 400,000 students across its
campuses and affiliated colleges. The Vice President of India also holds the
office of Chancellor of the university. The university has been ranked 6th by
the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2024.
The East Campus is being developed as the hub of the University College of Medical Sciences, while the West Campus will focus on engineering and technology. When the University Grants Commission started setting up Centers of Advanced Study in the country, out of a total of 18 such centers in the early sixties, 6 were given to Delhi University. The subjects included Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Economics, and Sociology.
DU University has two campuses- North Campus and South Campus. There are more than 90 colleges affiliated to Delhi University, along with 86 departments, 23 centres, 16 faculties and three institutes spread across Delhi. These centers of advanced study are now centers of excellence in teaching and research in their respective fields. In addition, many of these and other university departments received grants under the Special Assistance Program of the UGC in recognition of their excellent academic work. There are 15 libraries in the university.

Admissions to most DU undergraduate courses are through CUET
(Common University Entrance Test). PG admissions depend on DUET or CUET-PG

DU Delhi Placements:
Delhi University (DU) has a Central Placement Cell (CPC)
that handles the placement drive and gets students placed in reputed
multinationals, government organisations, NGOs and the private sector. A total
of 210 students from the UG department and 1368 from the PG department got DU
placements as per the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 report. DU median salary package of Rs 5.50
Lakhs was offered to UG students (3 years).
All students who have registered with CPC will receive
placement assistance counselling for employment, and self/social
