Indian Institute of Management Shillong

Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong) is the older of the second generation IIMs, established in 2007. The institute was earlier known as Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management Shillong (RGIIM) and offers postgraduate, doctoral and executive courses in the field of management along with management development. Program (MDP). Applicants are required to clear the CAT exam with good percentile for admission to MBA. However, foreign candidates can apply with GMAT scores.

There are two methods for evaluating higher education institutions around the world: the QS World University Rankings and the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The Ministry of Education, Government of India has developed the NIRF to evaluate universities based on teaching, research and overall outcomes; on the other hand, the QS rankings provide an international perspective. As per NIRF 2024, IIM Shillong is ranked 24th in the Management category. Whereas in the year 2023 and 2022 it was ranked 26th.

IIM Shillong is known for its international collaborations with leading universities such as NTU Singapore, IESEG School of Management, Lille Catholic University (France) and Guanghua School of Management, Peking University (China) for student exchange programmes.
