Institute of Management Studies, BHU Varanasi, a government
institute, was established in 1968. It is also recognized as FMS BHU and
functions as a constituent college of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. IM
BHU has been ranked 102nd by The Times in 2022 for MBA/PGBM and 47th by NIRF
2021 for Management. Institute of Management Studies, BHU is recognized by
AICTE and UGC.
The Faculty of Management Studies at BHU has been offering admission to its various management programs for over 52 years. Currently, it offers admission into MBA, MBA-IB, MBA-AB, PGDBA and PhD in Management. FMS BHU also offers three career-oriented diploma and certificate programs in part-time mode.
MBA and MBA-IB admissions into FMS BHU are based on CAT scores. The overall CAT cutoff for MBA is 85 percentile to shortlist students for further GD/PI rounds. Foreign nationals are admitted to MBA and MBA-IB on the basis of GMAT and TOEFL scores. Admission to MBA-AB is based on the common entrance conducted by BHU after GD/PI. To get admission in FMS BHU PGDBA, candidates are evaluated on the basis of their work experience, academic performance and GD/PI rounds.
In the year 2024, a total of 165 management students secured
181 job offers during the BHU placement process. The highest and average salary
packages were recorded at INR 23.5 LPA and INR 11.1 LPA, respectively.
