BIT Mesra

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra) is a government funded technical institute (GFTI) located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Birla Institute of Technology was declared a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The institute was incorporated in November 2023 under Section 12B of the UGC Act, 1956.

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra was founded in 1955 by visionary industrialist B. M. Birla. Renowned for its contribution to engineering and technology education in India, BIT Mesra offers a wide range of programs across a range of disciplines.

BIT Mesra Ranchi Campuses:

BIT Mesra has expanded its presence through several extension centres across India, including:

I) Patna Campus: Established in 2006, offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering and architecture.

II) Jaipur Campus: Established in 1995 at the Birla Institute of Scientific Research campus, offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, management, and animation.

III) Deoghar Extension Centre: Started in 2007, focuses on engineering programmes.
