NALSAR University of Law, also known as the National Academy
of Legal Studies and Research, is a prestigious national law university located
in Secunderabad, Hyderabad. It was established in 1998 through a law passed by
the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature.
It is popularly known as NALSAR or NALSAR Hyderabad and is
recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" grade
with a score of 3.60. NLU Hyderabad is approved by BCI and AICTE. As per the
NIRF 2023 ranking, NALSAR Hyderabad stood third under the law category. NLU

of NIRF 2023, NALSAR Hyderabad secured the third position.
The university offers full-time UG, PG, Doctorate and
Diploma programs in various areas of Law and Management. Apart from full-time
programmes, the university also offers part-time programs under the NALSAR
Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). Full-time courses are offered under
nine different centres, namely, Center for Constitutional Law, Center for
Family Law, Center for Legal Philosophy, and more.
The admission process for BA LLB Honors program at NLU
Hyderabad depends on the results of CLAT UG exam. CLAT PG exam result is
considered for NALSAR University of Law LLM admission. For admission to the
M.Phil Law program at NALSAR University of Law, candidates must undergo an
entrance examination and a personal interview. Candidates who have completed
UGC NET/JRF/SLET are exempted from appearing for the entrance test.
