The registration process for the Common Law Admission Test
(CLAT 2025) for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses will commence
today, July 15, by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Those
interested in taking the law entrance examination can submit their applications
on the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
The last date for registration for CLAT 2025 entrance exam
is October 15, 2024. Students who are interested in applying must ensure that
they submit the application fee before the last date.
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a nationwide entrance
examination for admission to law programs in the 24 National Law Universities
of India, covering both undergraduate and postgraduate law program.
Admissions to the 5-year integrated LLB and LLM programs commencing in the academic year 2025-2026 will be made exclusively through CLAT 2025.
The Common Law Admission Test is accepted by 24 national law universities as a valid entrance examination for both 5-year LLB and LLM programmes. CLAT colleges also include more than 60+ affiliated colleges and various public undertakings.
CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for undergraduate courses (5-year integrated
law degree) through CLAT 2025, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
+ General Category: Must have obtained minimum 45 percent marks
in 12th class.
+ SC, ST and PWD Categories: Must have at least 40 percent
marks in 12th class.
For postgraduate courses (1-year LLM degree), the
eligibility criteria are:
+ General Category: Must have completed LLB with at least 50
percent marks.
+ SC, ST and PWD Categories: Must be a graduate with minimum
45 percent marks.
CLAT 2025 Exam Application fee
The online application fee for undergraduate and
postgraduate programs through CLAT 2025 is given below:
+ General Category: Rs 4000
+ SC, ST, PWD and BPL candidates: Rs 3500
+ The application fee is not refundable and will not be
refunded under any circumstances.
CLAT Counseling Process:
1. Declaration of CLAT Result
2. Registration for Counselling
3. CLAT counseling fee payment
4. Publication of seat allotment
5. Admission fee payment
6. Reporting to allotted NLUs.
The registration fee for counseling is Rs. 30,000 for
general candidates and Rs. 20,000 for SC and ST candidates.
Candidates who complete the counselling registration will be
allotted NLU based on their college preference and merit rank. The options
available to the candidate after seat allotment are given below.
1. Accept the allotment
2. Freeze the allotment and float
3. Exit the counselling process
