Joint Seat Allocation Authority, also known as JoSAA, is an agency established by the Ministry of Education formerly known as Ministry of Human Resource Development to manage and regulate admissions into 110 tertiary institutions administered by the Government of India.
MHRD will release a detailed notification regarding JoSAA
counseling on josaa.nic.in. JEE Main 2024 counseling registration is expected
to take place from June 10 to 15. Only those candidates who qualify JEE Main
will be eligible to participate in JoSAA counseling 2024. The officials will
soon release the JEE Main 2024 counseling dates online.
To participate in counselling, students must complete JEE
Mains counseling registration. JEE Main counseling 2024 will be conducted for
admission to 23 IITs, 31NITs, 26 IIITs and GFTIs. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)
will conduct IIT JEE Main 2024 counselling in 6 rounds.
Candidates who have qualified in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced are eligible for admission to many participating institutes. More than 50,000 undergraduate engineering seats (B.Tech/BE) will be open for eligible candidates. The steps for counseling
are explained in detail below:
Step-1: Registration: For registration, candidates need to
log in to the official portal of JoSAA using their JEE Main 2024 roll number
and password. Candidates who will register for JEE Advanced will have to enter
their credentials and JEE Advanced password to log in. After logging in,
candidates need to check all the details like gender, nationality, state code
of eligibility, contact information etc. Candidates will need to confirm all
the details. Every applicant should note that, apart from contact information,
no other personal data will be modified during JoSAA 2024 registration.
Step-2: Choice Filling: After registration, candidates have
to fill their choices of branches and colleges in the order of preference.
According to the qualification of the candidate, the options available for
admission will be listed. Once the choices are entered, candidates will be able
to arrange them as per their choice by selecting “Arrange filled choices”.
Step-3: Choices Locking: Once the candidates have completed
the choice filling, they must lock their choices and take a printout of the
selected choices for future reference.
Step-5: Document Verification: In this step, students have
to get their documents verified as per the schedule. Document verification will
be conducted online. Only after verification of documents the students will be
allowed to report to the allotted place for final admission.
Step-6: Reporting at the Institute: In the final step, students have to report at the allotted institute to deposit the remaining fees and complete other admission related formalities.
JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2024:
To be eligible to participate in the JoSAA 2024 counselling process, it is mandatory for students to appear and qualify in JEE Main or JEE Advanced 2024. Along with that, there are other eligibility criteria that the candidates must fulfill to be eligible for the process. Every candidate who fulfills one or more of the following eligibility criteria mentioned below can participate in JoSAA counselling:

And Must have passed 12th class (or equivalent) examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects. Furthermore, candidates must pass each subject individually. |
