The College of Engineering Pune (COEP) Technological
University is a unitary public university of the Government of Maharashtra,
located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Established in 1854, it is the third
oldest engineering institution in India after the College of Engineering,
Guindy (1794) and IIT Roorkee (1847).
On 23 June 2022, the Maharashtra government released a notification regarding converting the college into an independent technological university. On March 24, 2022, the COEP Technological University Bill was approved by both houses of the state legislature, granting the institution unitary state university status.

COPE was ranked 73rd in the 2023 engineering rankings and
ranked in the 151-200 band overall by NIRF Ranking 2023. And in 2022 COPE was
ranked 12th among government engineering colleges in India by Outlook India.
The placement report 2023 of COEP Pune (now known as COEP
Technological University) has been released. The highest and average salary
packages offered during COEP Pune UG Placement 2023 were Rs 50.5 lakh per annum
and Rs 11.35 lakh per annum, respectively. Moreover, the placement rate
recorded during COEP Pune UG Placement 2023 was 73.35%.
