School of Planning and Architecture; The School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, is a premier institute specialising in architecture and planning education. Established in 1941 as the Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic, it gained autonomy in 1959 and was designated as an "Institution of National Importance" under the SPA Act 2014.
School of Planning and Architecture (SPA): Academic Programmes
A) Undergraduate Courses:
+ Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch): A five-year program
focused on architectural design, theory and practice.
+ Bachelor of Planning (B.Plan): Started in 1989, this
four-year course focuses on urban and regional planning.
B) Postgraduate Courses:
SPA Delhi offers master's programmes in various
specialisations including urban planning, housing, transportation planning,
landscape architecture, urban design, environmental planning, regional
planning, architectural conservation, industrial design and building
engineering and management.
C) Doctoral Programmes:
PhD opportunities are available in all departments to promote advanced research in architecture and planning.

Undergraduate Admissions:
Candidates must qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
for entry into B.Arch and B.Plan programs.
Postgraduate Admissions:
Admissions are based on performance in the Graduate AptitudeTest in Engineering (GATE) and subsequent interviews.
School of Planning and Architecture Campus and Facilities:
The SPA Delhi campus is divided into two main blocks for
Planning and Architecture, both situated near the ITO in Indraprastha Estate,
Delhi. The institution provides hostel facilities, with the girls' hostel
located on the ITO campus and the boys' hostel in New Friends Colony, Maharani
Bagh, Delhi.
