1. Overview of the MBA Admission Process for 2026

A) Entrance Exam and Eligibility: For the flagship two-year MBA/PGP/PGDM at IIMs and top B-schools, the first stage is the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025. Registration for CAT 2025 is now closed, and the CAT exam date is November 30, 2025.

B) Eligibility: Generally, students with a bachelor's degree and a final year with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwD) marks can provisionally apply. For example, IIM Ahmedabad's PGP admissions for batch 2026-28 state that final-year students must complete their degree by June 30, 2026, and submit completion certificates by December 31, 2026. 

C) Selection beyond CAT: Shortlisting based on CAT percentage + academic record + work experience + diversity + possibly WAT (Written Ability Test), GD/PI (Group Discussion/Personal Interview).
