Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti
Enterprises, is launching a merit-cum-means based scholarship program aimed at
supporting students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to pursue
technology-based UG engineering and integrated programs (up to five years) in
the top 50 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) (Engineering)
colleges including IITs.
The scholarship will be awarded to students whose annual
family income does not exceed Rs 8.5 lakh.
'Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program' mainly focuses on female
students. Starting at 250 students this year, the scholarship will be
applicable to students eligible for admission in August 2024.
“As the program reaches its peak, the ambition is to
increase the reach to 4,000 scholars with an outlay of ₹100+ crore per year,”
an official statement said.
The scholarship, which is fully funded, aims to remove
financial barriers that prevent deserving students, especially those coming
from disadvantaged backgrounds, from obtaining a quality education.
Bharti Airtel Scholarship will focus on UG and integrated
courses in the field of Electronics & Communication, Telecommunication,
Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science and emerging
technologies (AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning, Robotics) among the top 50 NIRF(Engineering) College.
Persons receiving this scholarship will be given the title
of 'Bharti Scholar'.
They will receive 100 percent of their college fees for the
entire duration of their course and will also be given a laptop. Additionally,
hostel and mess fees will be given to all eligible students who apply for it.

encouraged to voluntarily support at least one student on an ongoing basis once
they graduate and subsequently become gainfully employed, which is
