NEET PG 2026: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the seat matrix for 63,177 MD, MS, Diploma, DM, and MCh medical seats for the 2026-2027 academic year, including additional postgraduate medical seats.

Furthermore, the NMC clarified that this seat matrix does not include seats from applications received to increase intake in existing PG courses or start new PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. The NMC's Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) issued a notice on September 29 providing details regarding the postgraduate seats.

It stated, "The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has made public the details of medical colleges/institutions whose postgraduate (PG) courses and annual admission capacities have been approved for inclusion in the counselling process for the 2026–27 academic year.

The accompanying seat matrix contains details of the PG courses and seats approved by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) for the 2026–27 academic year as of the date of this notice's issuance." It further stated, "The seat matrix does not include seats for which applications have been received to increase admission capacity in existing PG courses or to start new PG courses for the academic year 2026–27.

Any additional PG seats or courses approved subsequently will be included in an updated seat matrix and published on the official website of the National Medical Commission. The provided seat matrix is ​​subject to modification, if necessary, based on decisions made by the MARB, the competent appellate committee, or any other competent authority.

Any revised seat matrix, where applicable, will be uploaded to the official website of the National Medical Commission and will be considered by the Central Government and the counselling committees of the respective State Governments/Union Territories for counselling and admission."
