IIIT colleges in India: IIIT colleges are autonomous institutes dedicated to providing technical education to students looking for engineering education focusing on information technology and communication studies. Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) have become increasingly popular among students looking for information technology programs and are considered one of the few leading colleges after the Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology.
There is a total of 26 IIITs in India, out of which 5 IITs are listed as institutes of national importance while the remaining 21 IIITs are set up on the public-private partnership (PPP) model. To get admission in IIITs, candidates have to clear JEE Mains and appear in Joint Seat Allocation Authority counselling (JoSAA counselling).
