MAT Exam 2025: The MAT exam 2025 dates for February 2025 will be released soon by AIMA. Candidates who wish to appear for the MAT exam can apply for it by filling the online application form. More than 800 B-schools in India accept MAT scores for admission. Based on the MAT score, candidates are shortlisted for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

2. MAT Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria:

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national level entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to MBA and allied programmes in various business schools. MAT entrance exam is a postgraduate level entrance exam. The general eligibility criteria for MAT are as follows:

3. Required Educational Qualification:

i) The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

II) The applicant is required to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited university.

III) Final year students of a bachelor’s degree program are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree before the admission process.

IV) Candidates having CA, CS or ICWA qualifications are also eligible.

4. Minimum Marks Requirement:

AIMA does not specify a minimum percentage requirement for appearing in MAT. However, some participating institutes may have their own minimum percentage criteria for admission.

5. Age Limit

There are no age restrictions for participating in the MAT examination.

Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of times a candidate can appear for MAT.

6. Mode of Test

Candidates can choose from any of the following test modes:

Paper-Based Test (PBT)

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Internet-Based Test (IBT) (From Home)

7. MAT Exam Pattern 2025

The MAT Exam Pattern is designed to test candidates on various aspects of management aptitude. A comprehensive outline of the examination pattern is provided below.

i) Mode of Examination

Paper-Based Test (PBT): Offline mode with pen and paper.

Computer-Based Test (CBT): Online mode at designated test centers.

Internet-Based Test (IBT): Online mode taken from home.

ii) Test Duration

Total duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes)

III) Sections

The exam is divided into 5 sections, each with 40 questions, making a total of 200 questions.

IV) Marking Scheme

Correct Answer: +1 mark

Incorrect Answer: -0.25 marks (negative marking applies)

V) Key Points

The Indian and Global Environment (General Awareness) section is not considered in the overall percentile calculation but is important for individual colleges.

Candidates can answer the questions in any order; there are no sectional time limits.

VI) Test Difficulty

The overall difficulty level of MAT is considered moderate compared to other MBA entrance exams like CAT or XAT.
