NEET UG 2024
National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National
Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination in 13 languages. The single
national level undergraduate medical entrance examination, NEET UG is conducted
every year for admission to 645 Medical, 318 Dental, 914 AYUSH and 47 BVSc
& AH colleges in India.

NEET UG Entrance Exam: NTA Extends Registration Deadline till March 16, 2024 |
As per the latest update, National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the exam date for NEET UG 2024 at nta.ac.in. The graduate medical examination will be conducted on May 5 for more than 20 lakh candidates. The NEET UG 2024 application form, along with the information brochure, will be released by NTA. The information bulletin of NEET 2024 will mention details like eligibility, process, fees and more for the test. Candidates must fill the NEET Registration Form 2024 before the last date to be announced by NTA.

NEET UG 2024 Admit Card will be issued to the candidates who
fill the application form on time and will have to appear in the examination.
Students must carry the hard copy of NEET 2024 hall ticket to the examination
centre. It is to be noted that without admit card and valid ID proof, no
candidate will be allowed to enter the NEET 2024 examination centre. NTA will
conduct NEET UG 2024 from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm in pen and paper mode for
admission to over 1 lakh MBBS, 27868 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 603 BVSc and AH seats.
As per the NEET UG 2024 exam pattern, the exam will consist
of 200 questions, of which candidates will have to answer only 180. The NEET
2024 exam paper includes questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology
subjects. In NEET 2024 exam, 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer,
one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer and no marks will be awarded
for any unanswered question.

The steps to fill
NEET UG 2024 application form are as follows:
Registration: Visit the official website-neet.nta.nic.in and
register for NEET UG 2024 by entering the asked details like active phone
number and email ID. After entering the details, NEET 2024 application number
will be generated
Filling the Application Form: After successful registration, again visit
official NTA NEET website and log in through candidate login. On reaching the
application form, enter the asked details like personal, academic and others.
Upload Documents: In the third step, upload the scanned
images of photograph, signature and other documents as per the specifications
mentioned in the NEET 2024 brochure.
Payment of NEET 2024 Application Fee-Pay the registration
fee through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI.
Taking a printout of the confirmation page: Candidates must save a copy of the confirmation page of NEET Exam 2024.

NEET UG Counselling Process: Dates/Schedule

NEET UG 2024 counselling for qualified candidates under 15%
All India Quota seats and all seats in Deemed Universities/ Central
Universities/ ESIC and AFMC seats including University of Delhi (DU), BHU and
AMU will be run by the Directorate General of Health Services.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and Medical
Counselling Committee (MCC) tentatively start online counseling process in the
last week of June or first week of July for admission to MBBS and BDS courses.
The dates for NEET counselling 2024 will be updated here once announced.
The counselling for admission to seats under the control of
other states/universities/institutes will be conducted as per the notification
issued separately by the concerned authorities. The Admission/ Counseling
authorities will prepare a merit list of the candidates in the respective
categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for
admission/counseling.
The information for online counseling will be available only
on the official website of the Medical Counseling Committee – www.mcc.nic.in.
Qualified candidates are advised to read the information related to counseling
carefully and understand the action to be taken by them to appear in the
counseling process.
The counselling of NEET UG for 15% All India Quota seats will be conducted in two rounds and for Central and Deemed Universities the counseling will be conducted in three rounds, Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-up Round.
Counselling for seats other than 15% All India Quota Seats:
Candidates wishing to apply for admission in State Medical
Colleges/ Universities/Institutions using merit list of NEET (UG) will be
follow the instructions of the State Government and/or authorities of the
Medical/Dental colleges/Institution/University concerned for counselling
process. The counselling for private medical colleges (other than deemed
university) will be with the respective state governments.
The Admission/Counselling authorities will prepare a merit
list of the candidates in the respective categories declared by the candidates
at the time of applying for admission/counseling. Note NTA will not make any
changes in the data of the candidates after the opportunity is over.
Categories of candidates have been collected in the
application form based on the central category list. For the counselling and
admission on seats other than 15% All India Quota Seats, candidates will
register for counselling as per their eligibility by giving the category based
on the State category list and merit list will be prepared accordingly by the
respective counselling. The domicile criteria would be as per the State
concerned and NTA has no role to play in it.
The verification process during counseling involves checking of eligibility criteria, self-declaration and various documents of eligible candidates as per the norms prescribed by the concerned authorities and/or medical/dental colleges.
Important Note:
1. All the medical colleges in India, including AIIMS and JIPMER institutions, will take admissions on the basis of NEET Score/Rank.
2. Candidates who have qualified the exam can start preparing for All India and State level NEET counselling sessions for the admission.
3. For government medical colleges, counselling for 15% of the seats is conducted by MCC and for the rest, 85% seat counselling is done by the state counselling authorities.
4. MCC handles the counseling process for all seats in deemed and central universities, while counseling for private and self-financed colleges is completely managed by state counseling authorities or committees.
