The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the schedule
for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, with the exam happening in
two phases. Following last year’s structure, the first session is scheduled for
January 22–31, 2025, and the second session will take place in April. JEE Main
includes two papers: Paper 1 for BE/BTech and Paper 2 for BArch/BPharm courses.
The registration for JEE Main 2025 opened on October 28,
2024, and will remain open until November 22, 2024. Interested students can
apply for the first session on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in. Once
the exams are completed, the results for the first session are expected on
February 12, 2025.
This year, the NTA has removed the optional questions in
Section B of the JEE Main 2025 exam, a slight adjustment from previous formats.
Besides announcing the dates for JEE Main, the NTA has also released the exam
dates for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG)
and the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
Looking back at 2024, JEE Main was conducted in two sessions: January 24–31 and April 6–12. Last year’s registration began on November 1, with a large number of students participating. In January 2024 alone, 12,21,624 students registered, with 11,70,048 attending the exam. In April, there were 11,79,569 registrations, with 10,67,959 students appearing for the test. Registration numbers have grown steadily over the past few years, rising from 10.26 lakh in 2022 to 11.62 lakh in 2023. With two sessions, JEE Main 2025 aims to give candidates a flexible option to improve their scores.
