The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta)
announced the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 on Thursday
evening. Management aspirants may access their scorecards by visiting the IIM CAT official website - iimcat.ac.in and
entering their application credentials.
Among the 329,000 registered candidates, 293,000
participated in the examination. Notably, engineering students and male
candidates were the standout performers. Out of the 14 aspirants who achieved a
perfect score of 100 percentile, 13 were engineers. In terms of gender
distribution, the highest scorers comprised 13 men and one woman.
Additionally, 29 candidates achieved a score in the 99.99
percentile, comprising 25 engineers and four individuals from non-engineering
disciplines. This group comprised 27 men and just two women. Thirty students
scored 99.98 percentile.
The demographic breakdown of the 329,000 registered revealed
that 67.53% were from the general category, 16.91% from NC-OBC, 8.51% from SC,
2.25% from ST, 4.80% from EWS, and 0.44% from PWD. Among the 293,000 aspirants
who participated, 67.20% were from the general category. The Indian Institutes
of Management (IIMs) are expected to announce the shortlist for the subsequent
phase of admissions, which will be based on CAT scores and specific criteria
set by each institute.
Along with the IIMs, 86 Non-IIM MBA Colleges will also accept CAT 2024 scores for their management programmes. Candidates are advised to verify the registration status of the institute on the CAT website before applying.
